This editorial design is the outcome of a long study and research on stereotypes on gender representation in recipe books which was carried out in 2015. The project was developed as part of the final thesis of my Bachelor’s Degree in Communication Design at Politecnico di Milano.

The book is composed by nine booklets of 16 pages each, which have been binded together with a handmade coptic stitch that beautifully decorates the book’s spine. Along with the stitch, the cardboard cover and the embossed texts create an editorial product that is both handcrafted and sophisticated. The inner layout is based on a 5 columns grid that is sometimes intentionally neglected to generate visual excitement and a dynamic rhythm throughout the spreads.
